We have compiled a list of plastic surgery reviews that you may wish to go through before you decide on which plastic surgeon to visit in Singapore. The reviews have been organised according to the reference source, popular procedures and sorted by Most Recent.

For a list of top Singaporean bloggers sharing their plastic surgery experience, check out Plastic Surgery Singapore Blogger.

Note on the reviews and a word of caution - Please take note that while everyone seems to be dishing out their own ‘expert’ advice in forums, be aware that most of the members are sharing their own experiences and opinions. I suggest that you need to supplement the information and to do your own online and offline research as well.

1. Realself.com

a. Hui Ling Chia, MBBS, FAMS - More than 42 reviews on realself.com

Address : SW1 Plastic Surgery Clinic @ Paragon, 290 Orchard Rd. #13-01, Singapore

The clinic feels professional, calm, clean and well organised. The first staff I met were welcoming and friendly. And then when I met Dr. Chia, I knew instantly that she would be the surgeon for me. She has a lovely caring manner and never made me feel awkward or silly for my questions, my concerns or my breasts. She listened intently to everything I said and made me feel like I was the most important patient and that she had all the time to spend with me, never making me feel rushed but at ease and comfortable.

When I woke up in recovery, two nurses gave me first-rate care and attention. I was in no pain. The nurses were so patient and gentle with me, checking up on me frequently changing my dressing regularly and helping me to feel comfortable while I recovered and slept for the few hours after surgery. That professionalism in their care really made a difference to my experience that day.

I have really found the aftercare superb too. There have been regular trips back for follow up checks, stitch removal, dressing changes and to gage how the incisions are healing. Contact outside of the visits are via regular WhatsApp, again checking up on me regularly and always quick to respond to any questions or concerns – I have never felt abandoned during this journey.

All costs are upfront, any extra’s – dressings, medicines are forewarned. You are told the good and the bad about surgery, about after surgery, your expectations vs reality so there are no surprises. You will know how your journey could look.

I would 110% recommend Dr. Chia. Having had an experience with another surgeon I can say with unquestionable doubt, you will not regret your decision to have Dr. Chai take care of you.

During the first consultation, Dr Chia was very patient and detailed in addressing my concerns for the otoplasty surgery.

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience for me and post-op was almost painless (really)! Hands down to Dr Chia’s skills and I highly recommend Dr Chia if you are considering otoplasty! I used to cover my ears with my hair so much and would never tie my hair up due to my protruding ears. I have a really nice and natural pair of ears now, I am soooo much more confident!

I had a 5/5 (would say 10/5 even, haha) experience with Dr Chia & the clinic!

I am extremely extremely grateful to Dr Chia and her magic hands (and also the team who was involved in the surgery) because this changed my quality of life in more ways than one. Symmetry is almost perfect now but that was not what I was looking for at the start. After the depressing consultation with the S.Korean doctor, I thought it would be near impossible to have anything done. I hope my review helps anyone facing the same issue as me.

If you are curious - i had 245cc done on one side and 375cc done on the other. So natural-looking that nobody can tell! A girlfriend of mine had hers done 6 months later after my surgery, also by Dr Chia, and hers look great too :)

b. Terence Goh, MBBS, MRCS(Ed), FAMS - 52 Reviews on Realself.com

Address : AZATACA Plastic Surgery. Royal Square Medical Centre, 101 Irrawaddy Rd. #14-09, Singapore

Dr Terence Goh is not only a highly skilled surgeon, his bedside manners and aftercare are absolutely superb too. I had to do the surgery as my earlier operation had resulted in a huge and painful keloid. Dr Goh resolved not only the pain but also ensured the ugly scar was reversed to a point where it is hardly visible now. Choosing Dr Goh is one of the best decisions I have ever made!

I had a mommy makeover with a mini tummy tuck & BA with fat transfer with Dr Goh around the end 2021.

He and his staff were very patient, gentle and caring. I knew I was in very good hands. I decided to go for the procedures because I want to feel sexy & body confident again for the rest of my life.

The operation was painless, recovery was manageable the first 2 weeks. I resumed all my activities around 1-3 months with doctor's clearance. The most painful period was the first 3 days, but with medications and sufficient rest & care, I was doing fine.

Looking back, I'm so glad that I went for the operations. I'm pleased with the boobs shape & natural feel and the tightness of the tummy. It was not cheap but worth every cent. My confidence skyrockets, I'm proud of my body and it gives me even more motivation to take great care of my fitness & health to enjoy it for a long long time.

I had very good experience with Dr Terence Goh who handle my lower eyebag surgery and sub-brow excision.

He is very experience therefore he can understand what I want. At consultation he explains clearly about the surgery, give several options with mentioning pros and cons for each options and also he show several examples. This makes me comfortable and decide to continue with the surgery.

The surgery went well and the recovery process is very fast. The result is very satisfying and above my expectation. Now I am happy with my new looks with no eyebag and I feel more confident and younger.

c. Jonah Kua, MBBS, MRCSEd

Address : Singapore General Hospital, 31 Third Hospital Ave, Singapore 168753

If you’re looking for an incredible plastic surgeon who is genuine, caring, kind, honest and has years of experience, then Dr Jonah is your man ! I went to see Dr Jonah in Aug 2022 for my first consultation and I knew instantly I wanted this man to carry out my surgery.

His knowledge, experience and his caring nature made me feel confident and safe under his care. I wanted a rhinoplasty and Dr Jonah gave me the best advice. He always answered my questions and was always happy to help. Dr Jonah is an amazing surgeon who goes above and beyond his duties, he’s very kind and caring with a good sense of humour and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone and if I decide to have further treatment he would be the one. Im happy with the results and feeling more confident with myself. Thank you so much Dr Jonah.

I consulted Dr Jonah Kua for suturing blepharoplasty as he is highly recommended by my friends who had gone through double eyelid surgery. Their eyelids look so natural and good after being operated by him.

After several consultations with him, I found him to be very assuring, patient, meticulous and responsible surgeon. He never rush through consultations and took the time to assess my eye anatomy and advised me accordingly to my face structure. He is someone who listen to patient's needs and show genuine concern for his patients. Before leaving his room, he would always ask if i have any question.

Post op 6 days, even my hairdresser complimented on his good surgical skills as my eyes look natural and wanted his name card. My eyes are more open and lively now, I am happy and confident with my new eyelids. Can consider Dr Jonah Kua if you need aesthetic procedure to enhance your beauty, highly recommend!

Ptosis Surgery - Natural results, he is thorough and very responsive

Really big difference! Although I am not wearing makeup in my pre-op pic, the improvement is definitely not just because of that. Love that my eyeliner can actually be seen now. Glad that I opted for the non-incisional method which came with minimal downtime.

Double Eyelid Experience with Dr Wong
Hi girls,
Forums really helped me a lot in my research and care after my double eyelid surgery so now that I've done it, I'd like to give back!
I did my surgery with Dr Wong Saw Yean at Gleneagles. He was a very nice man, but his receptionist was terribly rude. Impatient to answer questions, not willing to clarify, and whenever I wanted to understand more she would snap at me and answer me shortly and rudely. She also didn't tell me enough information for the after care (that's why reading forums helped a lot more). She didn't even tell me what to do after the removal of stitches until I asked her if I was still supposed to put on cold packs, to which she replied shortly "No what, you put warm pack. I already told you" which she NEVER did by the way.

7th Aug 2014 -
I recently went to see Dr Colin Song, his charges are quite reasonable and I am considering him for Chin implant and a surgical revision. I had previously done a medical operation 4 years ago which left me with a scar on my chest and back.
I went to him under the recommendation of my ex-boss. He told me that he is good in his works. I also did a quick check on line and notice that he sub specialize in cranio-maxillofacial surgery. Which I think is something to do with face structure of sort.

Mar 2013 -I finally did my tummy tuck 2 weeks ago at SGH by Dr Colin Song. Got my belly button stitches remove (2nd visit after discharge) yesterday by Dr Song. Like Superstar, I was comtemplating to do it in Thailand (Phuket for me... surgeon quoted me US$3,000 all in with hospital stay) initially but after some thoughts & research, I've decided to do it in Singapore. Dr Song is really nice & caring...very informative and willing to share which is important. After seeing him, my mind was so much settled. It is more expensive to do it here but one of the main reason I drop the idea of going to Phuket is because I wanted to be near my family and having them around you during the first week of surgery is important as you will need help to do simple things. I stayed in SGH for 3 nites (btw the nurses and Dr Song were great! Am surprised to get such good service & care at govt hospital). Get off bed to walk after 3pm of day 2. Slept with my back elevated and legs flexed for a week as I cannot stand or lie straight like normal. Gotta be careful that I don't 'pop' the stitches inside and outside. If anyone of you are interested to know more detail of what happened after surgery, I'll be happy to share. It is too early to tell at this stage because there are still swellings (will go away slowly approx 6 months time per Dr Song) BUT I'm really happy with my tummy now, looks so much better before the op even though the swellings are still there! No regrets! All I need to do now is to take good care of my wound and scar so that they heal nicely. Source:http://forum.singaporeexpats.com/ftopic1180-0-asc-9660.html

Macrolane / Breast Fillers no longer approved?
I've been calling various plastic surgery clinics today and have been told by most of them that they no longer do breast fillers. Some say because Macrolane & other breast filler materials have been taken off the market, others say FDA or HSA no longer approves it.
I am quite confused considering this has been done for a few years now. Also am wondering for those of you who have done breast fillers previously, now that Macrolane is not longer provided how do you do your annual top up?

Sep 2016 - Breast Augmentation and Liposuction
I have not done it yet. I saw the reviews that it will take quite some time to fully recover, so i am still considering about it. Sigh.
Not much recommendations or authentic shared reviews could be found as well. Wonder if its worth to go through the risk for it or should i just do in sg.
However, the price in SG is like more than $10k. Its only maybe more than 70k baht [$2k+] if done in Thai.

Breast Augmentation Singapore
Updated May 2017: Although the post has been removed, we still think the information shared previously was useful enough. However, we shared this in good faith for you to judge for yourself the accuracy and fairness of the post.

A useful post within the thread, by ilovehim90 with pricing details of her breast augmentation procedure in Singapore:

Hi All, I am new here & I am considering BA anytime soon
http://singaporemotherhood.com/forum/threads/breast-fillers-breast-enlargement.3364/page-10#post-7450355

I have already visited Dr Leslie Kuek as well as Dr Edward Foo. Dr Leslie Kuek recommended the crease incision for me while I understand Dr Foo advocates periareolar incision. I am leaning more towards preiareolar incision as i am very concern about the dark scar that will be left behind after the surgery.

Breast Augmentation Fee
Dr Leslie Kuek quoted the following for mine
Doctor Fee - $13K
Hospital Fee - $3.5K ~ $4K
Day Surgery Anesthesia Fee - approx $1.5K

Dr Edward Foo @ TCS
Doctor Fee - $10,900/~
Anesthesia Fee - 2hrs @ approx $699/hr
Swelling & Bruising Cream - $178/~

As i'm also considering Tummy Tuck, I have the following fee quoted by Dr Leslie Kuek
Tummy Tuck Doctor Fee - $13K
Hospital Fee - $6K ~ $8K (approx 2 days stay at Gleneagles Hospital)
Anesthesia Fee - approx $2K to $2.5K

I am looking to consult a 3rd Plastic Surgeon before deciding which PS to go with.

Finding the Best Plastic Surgeon in Singapore?

On how to find the best-recommended plastic surgeon in Singapore, please feel free to check out 3 ways to find a good plastic surgeon in Singapore. Do remember that the field of plastic surgery consists of many sub-specialties. FAQ

a. How Do I Prepare for a Surgical Consultation?

During your first consultation, you’ll be required to fill up the necessary forms prior to the actual consultation with your surgeon.

It would be good to come in with a general idea of what kind of procedure you would like to have and your expectations. You could also prepare for your consultation beforehand by coming up with a list of questions such as:

  • The surgical options you have
  • The risks and possible complications
  • What you can expect from the procedure
  • The type of anaesthesia used
  • Recovery time for the surgery
  • Any before or after photos of other surgeries your doctor has performed

Your plastic surgeon will work with you in managing your concerns and expectations. Some of these would be on:
  • What results you can expect from the procedure
  • How the surgery will be performed
  • Whether you are healthy enough to undergo the procedure
  • What kind of anaesthesia would be used
  • How you can prepare for the procedure
  • What you can expect during recovery
  • Operating room costs and surgeon’s fees
  • Whether the procedure is MediSave claimable
  • Other alternative procedures
  • Follow up appointments

While you can choose to confirm your surgery on the same day as your consultation, you should not feel obligated to make a decision immediately! Understandably, it may all be overwhelming and you should take it at a pace you’re comfortable with.

On some occasions, one consultation may not be enough for you to give the green light and new questions may arise. If so, that is perfectly normal. You can always call for a second consultation, and make sure to take note of the questions that need to be addressed before you can comfortably make a decision.

b. Is Singapore a Safe Country to Undergo Plastic Surgery?

Because of the strict regulations set in place by the Ministry of Health, you may rest comfortable knowing that plastic surgery in Singapore is safe. Before they can operate, plastic surgeons must complete years of rigorous training and testing. All licensed medical professionals will also be registered with the Singapore Medical Council, which will guarantee that surgical protocol is followed.

To ensure that they have the necessary expertise to provide the finest results, many plastic surgeons even enroll in additional specialised training programmes locally and overseas.

c. How Painful is Plastic Surgery?

The level of pain experienced during plastic surgery might vary depending on the specific procedure being performed, the patient's pain tolerance, and the surgical technique used. Commonly, plastic surgery involves making incisions, which can cause some discomfort, but most surgeons use anesthesia and pain medications to reduce pain during and after the surgery.

For minor procedures such as Botox injections or facial fillers, the pain is usually mild, and many people describe it as a slight pinching or burning sensation. However, for more invasive procedures such as breast augmentation, tummy tuck, or facelift surgery, the pain can be more intense and may need prescription pain medications for a few days or weeks after the surgery.

d. How Long Does a Plastic Surgery Last?

The duration of a plastic surgery procedure might vary based on the particular procedure being done, the extent of the operation, and the surgeon's ability and experience. While some treatments can be finished in a few hours, others might require many hours or even several sessions.

For instance, a facelift process can take from 3-6 hours depending on the complexity of the surgery, whereas a breast augmentation procedure normally lasts 1-2 hours. Treatments involving many body parts or requiring more complicated techniques may require more time to complete.

It's also crucial to remember that the length of the process does not always equal to the length of the healing time. Recovery times can differ depending on the treatment, the patient's overall health, and their capacity for recovering. While recovery from certain surgeries may take many weeks, others can allow for a quicker return to daily activities.

Before undergo any treatment, it's crucial to go over the expected length of the surgery and recovery period with your plastic surgeon so you know exactly what to anticipate.

e. Are Plastic Surgeries Reversible?

Depending on the specific operation being performed, some procedures can be reversed or corrected, while others may not be reversible or may require additional surgery to correct.

For instance, breast implants can be removed or replaced, and the results of a rhinoplasty (nose job) can be modified with a revision procedure.

However, some procedures, such as a facelift or a tummy tuck, can be difficult to reversed once they have been performed. These procedures involve removing extra skin and tissue, which cannot simply be replaced once removed. In some cases, additional surgery may be necessary to correct the results of these procedures if they are unsatisfactory.
